THE SUPER VILAINS
Illustration project organised by Rotopol Press in Kassel gathering various illustrators on the theme "Super Vilains". The illustrations appeared in a collective exhibition, and were printed in postcard format.
Here are my two mean characters, and their story.
Someone bit on your cheeseburger? That delicious piece of cake you have been saving all afternoon? Even worse, your all-time favourite pair of trainers?! All of a sudden, cherished belongings around the world are being knawed at by a monstrous bite..
It’s time to be ready, your loved stuff may be next. Beware of... Mr Hole!
Armed with a fork and a salt shaker, he's filling his belly with all your favourite stuff. The more you love it, the more tasty it will be. The worst part is that his belly is bottomless, like a horrible, infinite hole where so many treasures are doomed to reach their final destination.
Nothing can stop him except one thing. One almost impossible thing. Somehow you will have to find the strength to stop loving. Or even better, hate everything! With nothing for him to eat he will move on to his next victim. As long as you remain a jaded, bored, cynical person, you will be safe.
Have you ever seen one of those desserts that are so pretty, that for a second, you can't manage to take your eyes off them, as if a strange spell was suddenly controlling you, keeping you from thinking about anything else, a cake that you definitely HAVE to eat. You might think that it is because of your own appetite...
Beware... it might be the work of Mrs Cream!
So sweet and appealing, with a taste of paradise, those succulent delicacies will not only satisfy your desire from the first bite, they will glut your appetite forever.
After that single bite, you will never be able to want anything anymore, nor desire, wish or dream. You will be definitely fed up.
If by any chance, before you succumb to the temptation, you hear a little voice trying to convince you to resist, listen really carefully to it, it is your only way out.
You might think that it is your conscience talking, but it's in fact Mrs Cream's biggest adversary... Mr Mind
